Obstetric Care
Melius, Schurr & Cardwell, Physicians for Women, is a group practice. During your pregnancy care, we suggest you rotate appointments with all of our physicians as well as with our nurse practitioner. All of us have similar philosophies and practice styles regarding obstetrical care so if you would prefer to see only one physician through your entire pregnancy you may. Realize however, that we rotate 24-hour call between the four physicians, and know that most patients enjoy meeting with all of us before their big day.
Gynecologic Care
You will have the physician of your choice as your primary physician for your periodic checkup and scheduled visits. There may be times when you have a concern that occurs when your personal physician is not available. In that case, one of the other physicians in the group will be available to address your concerns.
Over the Phone
If you wish to speak to a nurse or doctor, our receptionist will take your name and telephone number for the call to be returned. We do this in order to have your chart available for the doctor or nurse so they will have access to your complete medical record and be able to answer your questions to the best of their ability.
Prescription Refills
Drug prescription refills are filled only during office hours when the physician and nurse have access to your medical record. Please have the phone number of the pharmacy of your choice available at the time of your call.
