Our Specialty
From our modern clinic in the Madison suburb of Fitchburg, WI, we specialize in women's health issues, which includes the examination, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of women's health problems. In addition to standard specialty care in obstetrics and gynecology (ob/gyn), we offer:

Obstetrics
Melius, Schurr & Cardwell, Physicians for Women is a group practice. During your pregnancy care, we suggest you rotate appointments with all of our ob/gyn physicians, as well as with our nurse practitioner. We all have similar philosophies and practice styles regarding obstetrical care, but if you prefer to see only one physician throughout your entire pregnancy, you may do so. Please realize, however, that we rotate 24-hour call between our four board-certified ob/gyns and have found that most patients enjoy meeting with all of us before their big day.

Gynecology
You will have the physician of your choice as your primary physician for your periodic ob/gyn checkups and scheduled visits. If there is ever a time when your personal physician is not available and you need to speak with us, one of the other ob/gyn physicians in the group will be available to address your concerns.
Internal Medicine
The addition of an internal medicine specialist to our staff offers you the best in health care solutions from Melius, Schurr & Cardwell. Our new clinic in the Madison suburb of Fitchburg now provides the highest standard of women's health services in all areas, including those outside the obstetrics/gynecology fields. As a group, we believe strongly in prevention, accurate diagnosis and working closely in partnership with our patients to inform, educate and provide treatment when necessary.
Over the Phone
If you wish to speak to a nurse or doctor, our Madison office receptionist will take your name and telephone number for your call to be returned. This enables us to have your chart available for the ob/gyn doctor or nurse — providing access to your complete medical record and affording you the best possible response to your questions or needs.
Prescription Refills
Drug prescription refills are filled only during our Madison office hours when the physician and nurse have access to your medical record. Please have the phone number of the pharmacy of your choice available at the time of your call and allow one full business day [8 hours] for your prescription to be ready for pick up.
