Our Ob/Gyn Doctors are Among Madison's Best
Approximately 1,850 Dane County physicians were sent a survey from Madison Magazine asking them to name the top doctors in up to 48 medical disciplines — general practitioners and specialists, including obstetrics and gynecology — they would recommend to their family and friends. More than 400 responded. Here's who they chose.
Dr. Julie Schurr co-founded the city's only independent Obstetrics and Gynecology group, Melius, Schurr & Cardwell, Physicians For Women. "The three of us were looking for a way to empower ourselves with the ability to have the practice the way we wanted it." Five years later, Kim Bergeron, MD and Mary Carr-Ross, a nurse practitioner, also see patients in their new Madison area office. The five provide primary health care for all women and, according to Schurr, each doctor delivers on average a baby a day.
