
Julie A Schurr, MD, FACOG
Dr. Schurr has been a practicing Obstetrician/Gynecologist since finishing her residency in 1993 at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Before moving back to Madison in 1995, she was in private practice at the prestigious Ruch Clinic in Memphis, Tennesse and also functioned as Clinical Instructor at the University of Tennesse. Prior to forming Melius, Schurr & Cardwell, Dr. Schurr served as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Instructor for the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Schurr currently practices at Meriter Hospital, but has admitting and surgical privileges at St. Mary's Hospital.
Dr. Schurr is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). She graduated Salutatorian and Summa Cum Laude from Denison University in 1985 and acquired her Medical Doctorate at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1989. Dr. Schurr is also the recipient of Madison Magazine's Top Doc Awards for 2005 & 2006
In addition to her practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Schurr's professional interests include:
- The treatment of cervical and lower genital tract dysplasia.
- Conventional management as well as surgical and non-surgical alternatives to hysterectomy.
- Problems associated with perimenopause.
- Obstetric and gynecological-related issues associated with exercise and the female athlete.
Dr. Schurr is the mother of two girls and is married to Mike her husband. She enjoys cycling, running, Pilates and water skiing.
