Dr. Schurr graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science Degree from Denison University.  She received her medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics in 1993.  Dr. Schurr is one of three founding physicians of the single specialty Obstetric and Gynecology Group, Physicians for Women-Melius, Schurr & Cardwell in Madison, Wisconsin.

She presently is on staff at UnityPoint Health-Meriter Hospital and is an OB Hospitalist at Aurora Sinai Medical Center where she is an attending physician responsible for the management of a high acuity, high-risk Obstetric population; OB Triage, Labor & Delivery and Postpartum.  She oversees and participates in OB resident education and midwife collaboration and involvement.  Dr. Schurr is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Board Certified.  In 2013 her practice was voted as Best OB/GYN clinic by the local women's magazine, BRAVA and in 2006 she received "Top Doctors" recognition and was featured as the cover story in Madison Magazine.

In 2017, Dr. Schurr and her partners debuted a painless, effective and non-surgical, office-based procedure using a fractionated CO2 laser system called the FemiLift for the treatment of atrophic vaginal changes associated with menopause, painful intercourse, stress urinary incontinence and lichen sclerosis- the first in Madison.

In addition to her practice of obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Schurr's professional interests include:

  • The treatment of cervical and lower genital tract dysplasia
  • Conventional management as well as surgical and non-surgical alternatives to hysterectomy
  • Problems associated with perimenopause
  • Obstetric and gynecological-related issues associated with exercise and nutrition in the female athlete

When Dr. Schurr isn't delivering babies, seeing patients in the office or operating, she spends her time in Guatemala developing a Women's Health Clinic for the severely under-served women of that country.  She loves kick-boxing and working out in the gym, cooking up a storm with her two grown daughters and playing with her big Rhodesian Ridgeback pup, Zulu.
